 Senate Begins Hearing Of Bill To Fine Nigerians N50,000 For Failing To Send Children To School

The Senate has passed for first reading a invoice that recommends a shapely of N50,000 to parents who default in providing their childhood with most foremost and secondary college education.

The invoice proposed by Senator Orji Kalu titled, “Obligatory free Smartly-liked Classic Training Act 2004, Part 2” states that every authorities in Nigeria shall provide free, compulsory and current customary education for every child of most foremost and junior secondary college age.”

The amendment states, “Part (4) (b) of the Main Act is amended by deleting N2,000 and inserting N20,000.  Part (4) (c) of the Main Act is amended by deleting N5,000 and inserting N50,000.”

It added, “Part 3(2) of the Main Act is amended by deleting N10,000 and inserting N100,000.”

It stated, “A one who receives or obtains any price opposite to the provisions of subsection (1) of this section commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a shapely no longer exceeding N10,000 or imprisonment for a time duration of three months or to every.

“Every mother or father shall web obvious that his child receives corpulent-time education trusty to his age, skill and aptitude by traditional attendance at faculties.”

On the opposite hand, the Senate proposes, N100,000 in change of the N10,000.

The Senate proposed, “Part 3(2) of the Main Act is amended by deleting N10,000 and inserting N100,000.”
