In a grand celebration of International Women’s Day, NYcee, the rising star of KuliKuli Entertainment
NYcee, who has become a beacon of hope for many young women, used the occasion to share her inspiring journey, highlight the challenges faced by women in male-dominated industries, and reaffirm her commitment to empowering women and girls across Africa.
A Celebration of Women’s Strength and Unity
The event at StayEasy Hotel was a testament to the power of collective action. The female staff of StayEasy, led by their manager, organized a day filled with inspiring speeches, cultural performances, and networking sessions. NYcee, flanked by the women of StayEasy, delivered a heartfelt speech that resonated deeply with the audience.
“Today, we celebrate not just the achievements of women but also the struggles we overcome daily,” NYcee said. “From the boardroom to the stage, women are breaking barriers and redefining what it means to thrive in an evolving world. I am honored to stand with the incredible women of StayEasy Hotel, who exemplify strength, dedication, and excellence.”
NYcee’s Journey: A Story of Resilience and Triumph
NYcee’s journey to success is a testament to the power of perseverance and the unwavering support of her single mother. Born and raised in Kogi State, Nigeria, NYcee faced numerous challenges growing up. Her mother, a resilient woman, struggled to provide for her family while ensuring NYcee received a quality education.
Two Defining Challenges in Her Journey:
- Financial Struggles: NYcee’s mother worked multiple jobs to sponsor her education, often sacrificing her own needs to ensure her daughter could attend school. Despite the financial hardships, NYcee excelled academically, earning a degree from the University of Abuja.
- Societal Pressure: As a single parent, NYcee’s mother faced societal stigma and criticism. However, she remained steadfast in her belief that education was the key to a better future for her daughter.
“My mother is my hero,” NYcee shared. “She taught me that no dream is too big and no obstacle too great. Her sacrifices inspired me to pursue my passion for music and to use my platform to uplift other women.”
KuliKuli Entertainment: A Safe Haven for Female Artists
NYcee’s partnership with KuliKuli Entertainment has been a turning point in her career. Unlike many record labels that exploit female artists, KuliKuli Entertainment has provided NYcee with a supportive and empowering environment.
“KuliKuli Entertainment has been a blessing in my life,” NYcee said. “They have supported me without asking for the impossible or subjecting me to the abuses that many female artists face in the industry. I wish other record labels would emulate their approach and create safe spaces for women to thrive.”
NYcee also highlighted the importance of women standing firm against exploitation. “In an evolving world, women must not settle for cheap offers or compromises. We must demand respect, fairness, and opportunities that reflect our worth.”
Advocacy for Women and Girls
NYcee’s commitment to empowering women extends beyond her music career. She is a passionate advocate for girls’ education and menstrual health. Through her #10MillionPadsForAfricanGirls campaign, NYcee aims to provide sanitary pads to rural African girls, ensuring they can attend school without interruption.
“No girl should miss school because she cannot afford sanitary pads,” NYcee declared. “This campaign is about dignity, education, and empowerment. I promise to continue this mission until we reach our goal of 10 million pads.”
Her advocacy aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality). NYcee’s efforts have garnered support from organizations and individuals worldwide, further amplifying her impact.
Praising Zambia’s Leadership: A Call for More Women in Governance
NYcee took a moment to commend the Government of Zambia for its progressive leadership, particularly for having a female Vice President.
“Zambia has set a remarkable example for the rest of Africa by electing a woman as Vice President,” NYcee said. “This is a clear demonstration of trust in women’s leadership and their ability to deliver on their duties with dispatch, integrity, and excellence. I urge other African leaders to emulate Zambia and fast-forward the inclusion of women in governance. Women bring trust, efficiency, and a unique perspective to the workforce and leadership roles. It’s time to vote for women and give them the opportunity to lead.”
Acknowledging the Women of StayEasy Hotel
NYcee expressed her gratitude to the women of StayEasy Hotel for their unanimous and collective efforts in organizing the event.
“The women of StayEasy Hotel have shown what is possible when women come together,” NYcee said. “Their dedication and teamwork are inspiring, and I look forward to collaborating with them on future initiatives.”
A Call to Action: Empowering Women Everywhere
As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, NYcee called on individuals, organizations, and governments to take concrete steps toward gender equality.
“Women are not just the future; we are the present,” NYcee emphasized. “Let us invest in women’s education, health, and economic empowerment. Let us create a world where every woman can thrive, regardless of her background or circumstances.”
