JOS, NIGERIA — The Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), in strategic partnership with the British American Nursing School (BANS), is proud to announce the commencement of the Nursing Wards Excellence Series. This initiative is designed to celebrate the extraordinary dedication of nursing professionals who serve as the backbone of our healthcare delivery system.
Starting today, the “First Responders Award” program opens to the public, inviting patients, colleagues, and the community to recognize nursing staff who have demonstrated exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism in their respective health units.

We believe that exceptional service deserves exceptional recognition. Winners of the “First Responders Award” will be honored with:
- The BANS Ambassador Pin: A symbol of distinction and professional excellence.
- Official Certificate of Recognition: A testament to their commitment to quality healthcare.
- Exclusive Professional Retreat: Winners will have the opportunity to participate in a special retreat, fostering rejuvenation and peer-to-peer learning.

- Voting Mechanism: We are utilizing a verified “1+” count system to ensure every vote is accurately captured.
- Categories: Nominations are categorized by health units to ensure that recognition is localized and meaningful.
- Integrity: Each vote is audited to ensure fairness. We encourage all participants to provide a brief, impactful justification for their nominee to highlight the specific excellence being recognized.
