KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI — HOPe Africa is pleased to announce its pairing with J.Crew Town Center Crossing in Leawood, Kansas, through the One Warm Coat Drive, a seasonal charitable initiative that encourages communities to share warmth with people in need. The coat drive began today and will run through December 31, providing an opportunity to collect gently worn coats for distribution to individuals and families facing hardship in Jackson County and surrounding communities.

This partnership represents another meaningful opportunity for HOPe Africa to advance its humanitarian mission of “Creating Friendly Societies for All Through Service, Partnership, and Impact.” As temperatures drop and economic pressures continue to affect households, access to warm clothing can make a practical difference for children, families, older adults, people with disabilities, individuals experiencing homelessness, and others facing vulnerability.

HOPe Africa looks forward to working with J. Crew Town Center Crossing and the One Warm Coat team to help turn community generosity into tangible assistance for those who need it most.

A partnership built around sharing warmth

The designated participating store is: J. Crew Town Center Crossing

Community members are encouraged to contact or visit the store for information about donating gently worn coats during the drive. HOPe Africa will coordinate with its store contact regarding collection arrangements as donations are received.

The initiative offers residents a practical way to support neighbors experiencing hardship. A coat that is no longer needed by one household may provide warmth and comfort to someone who otherwise struggles to obtain suitable winter clothing.

HOPe Africa encourages residents, families, workplaces, community groups, and other organizations to help spread the word and participate in this effort. Every suitable donation can help extend the reach of the campaign and strengthen a culture of compassion throughout the community.

Gratitude to One Warm Coat: More than a decade of partnership

HOPe Africa extends its sincere appreciation to One Warm Coat, a trusted partner for more than ten years. This longstanding relationship reflects the value of sustained collaboration between charitable organizations and partners committed to helping people access essential resources.

We are grateful for the continued opportunity to participate in this coat drive and for the partnership framework that connects donated clothing with organizations serving people in need.

We also appreciate J.Crew Town Center Crossing for participating in this initiative and helping create an opportunity for local residents to contribute to a shared humanitarian purpose.

Partnerships such as these demonstrate how businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individual donors can work together to address community needs. By combining available resources with local service networks, we can help more people access practical assistance while encouraging generosity and civic responsibility.

Meeting growing needs in difficult times

Many households continue to face difficult choices as the cost of everyday necessities places pressure on limited resources. For families already struggling to afford food, housing, transportation, utilities, and other essentials, purchasing adequate winter clothing can become an additional burden.

HOPe Africa recognizes that these needs do not end with a single seasonal campaign. As community needs grow and change, the organization remains committed to identifying opportunities to secure useful donations and connect them with vulnerable individuals and families.

We welcome additional partnerships and donations of appropriate goods that can support our humanitarian work, including clothing, household necessities, food, personal-care items, and other essential supplies. Businesses, retailers, manufacturers, distributors, charitable organizations, and individual donors are invited to explore opportunities to work with HOPe Africa.

Our goal is to make it easier for usable resources to reach people who can benefit from them, while encouraging responsible reuse, reducing unnecessary waste, and promoting dignity for recipients.

An open invitation to community partners and donors

HOPe Africa welcomes organizations interested in establishing donation partnerships, seasonal collection programs, and ongoing community-support arrangements. We are particularly interested in collaborations that can provide consistent assistance to people experiencing homelessness, families with limited resources, seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, refugees, and other vulnerable populations.

We believe that no act of generosity should be dismissed simply because it appears small. A single coat, a box of essential supplies, a business-sponsored collection, or a sustained donation partnership can contribute to a larger collective impact.

We encourage potential partners to contact HOPe Africa to discuss available resources, donation logistics, and opportunities for collaboration. Together, we can identify practical ways to respond to urgent needs while building lasting relationships that benefit the communities we serve.

Continuing our mission through service and impact

At HOPe Africa, our commitment remains clear: Creating Friendly Societies for All Through Service, Partnership, and Impact.

We are thankful to One Warm Coat for more than a decade of trusted partnership, grateful to J.Crew Town Center Crossing for this new collection opportunity, and appreciative of every individual and organization willing to help neighbors in need.

As the coat drive continues through December 31, we look forward to working with our partners and the wider community to collect donations and help provide warmth to vulnerable people in Jackson County and beyond.

Let us continue to turn compassion into action, available resources into meaningful assistance, and partnerships into measurable community benefit. Together, we can help ensure that more people face the colder months with greater warmth, dignity, and hope.
