LUSAKA, ZAMBIA — Demonstrating that compassionate service, meaningful partnership, and tangible impact recognize no international boundaries, HOPe Africa is proud to announce a monumental expansion of its transnational humanitarian movement linking the United States and Zambia.

Building upon our foundational commitment of Creating Friendly Societies for All Through Service, Partnership, and Impact, this latest milestone bridges grassroots community care in Lusaka with dynamic economic empowerment, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive not only celebration and dignity, but also sustainable avenues for financial independence.

High-Level Strategic Meeting in Lusaka: Reviewing Success and Scaling Impact

In a landmark diplomatic and humanitarian engagement in Lusaka, the President of the Zambia Diaspora Chamber of Commerce (ZDCC), Mr. Freud Musanu, held a high-level briefing with official HOPe Africa representatives and dedicated field volunteers. The delegation gathered to review comprehensive feedback reports from the recently concluded milestone events for the Umoyo Widows and Orphanage Centre (UWAOC)—which has been officially adopted by HOPe Africa for a transformative 12-month tenure featuring monthly birthday celebrations, ensuring that no resident’s special day goes unremembered.

The strategic review meeting brought together key organizational leaders, including:

  • Mr. Freud Musanu, President, Zambia Diaspora Chamber of Commerce (ZDCC)
  • Delphine Lengwe, HOPe Africa Country Coordinator & Event Organizer
  • Dyna Kayanike, Volunteer
  • Mrs. Nambozi L. Makopwe, Volunteer

Strategic Economic Partnership: Introducing Lubaud Digital Mart

Directly emerging from this collaborative review, HOPe Africa and ZDCC are officially launching the next phase of the Umoyo adoption cycle in partnership with Lubaud Digital Mart, a premier logistics and e-commerce enterprise.

This alliance introduces Lubaud Digital Mart to the Zambian domestic market while offering Zambians in the global diaspora an unprecedented opportunity to utilize all-inclusive, trusted e-commerce and delivery services connecting back home. Crucially, this collaboration creates direct economic pathways for the Umoyo widows:

  • First-Hand Insight & Integration: Management and residents of the Umoyo Widows and Orphanage Centre received an intimate introduction to Lubaud Digital Mart’s operational framework.
  • Empowerment Through Employment: Widows at Umoyo are being integrated as authorized agents and sorters, managing goods, inspecting inventory, and coordinating handovers to logistics fleets for onward distribution.
  • Additional Revenue Streams: Participants are empowered to execute targeted local deliveries, generating crucial supplemental household income and fostering true self-reliance.

“Breaking the Eyes” at Zoran Café: Fellowship and Celebration

To commemorate this historic synergy, the HOPe Africa international secretariat, alongside the Zambia Diaspora Chamber of Commerce, hosted an exclusive executive lunch dinner at the renowned Zoran Café in Lusaka.

Marked by an atmosphere of warmth, cultural celebration, and mutual vision—affectionately highlighted by the traditional “breaking the eyes” milestone moment—leadership, volunteers, and community partners enjoyed an all-inclusive, celebratory feast courtesy of ZDCC and HOPe Africa International Secretariat. With zero omissions and absolute dedication to uplifting every participant, the gathering cemented a shared resolve to expand this movement across the region.

A Shared Vision for Transatlantic Empowerment

As HOPe Africa continues its pioneering work across Jackson County, the Kansas side, and international outposts like Lusaka, this partnership proves that humanitarian aid and economic development must go hand in hand. By uniting diaspora leadership, corporate innovation like Lubaud Digital Mart, and grassroots dedication, we are actively engineering sustainable societies where dignity, hope, and opportunity flourish.
