Representing Madison Life Insurance were Evans Kachusha, Corporate Business Marketing & Micro Insurance, and Oscar W. Mulungu, Marketing Manager. They were joined by Freud Musanu, President of the ZDCC, and Francis Fagjot John PhD of HOPe Care Service (HCS) International Business Consultant.
A Partnership Built on Trust and Innovation
The partnership comes after the ZDCC board granted its full approval to Madison Life’s proposal, a move lauded by MLife as a significant step forward. In a letter to the ZDCC, Madison Life expressed its “heartfelt gratitude and delight” at the approval, highlighting the shared vision to “deliver innovative and accessible solutions” that make a “lasting impact for Zambians both at home and across the diaspora”.
During the meeting, Evans Kachusha opened with a professional and concise presentation, while Oscar Mulungu expertly addressed all “most grey areas,” demonstrating a deep understanding of the policies and services on offer. Their presentation, which covered Madison Life’s comprehensive product portfolio in less than 45 minutes, left all parties satisfied and eager to proceed.
A Vision for a Billion-Dollar Future
This partnership is a significant stride towards ZDCC’s ambitious vision to boost the U.S.-Zambia investment portfolio and trade volume to $1 billion by 2030. By collaborating with a financially sound and reputable Zambian company like Madison Life, the ZDCC is not only providing essential services but also demonstrating to the global market the immense potential for investment and collaboration within the diaspora community. This alliance showcases how leveraging the fiscal strength and expertise of the Zambian diaspora can be a powerful engine for economic growth and development, directly contributing to the Chamber’s long-term strategic goals.
Commitment to Proactive Engagement and Client Advantage
A key component of the forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is an intensive program of advocacy and sensitizations. The partnership is committed to exploring all avenues to attract clients, including but not limited to hybrid education programs, exclusive promotional offers, and bonus packages. To ensure seamless coordination and accurate record-keeping for both parties, the ZDCC will host a permanent, highly visible advertisement on its platforms. This ad will feature a unique, dedicated code from Madison Life Insurance, allowing for precise identification and monitoring of all referrals and new clients originating from the ZDCC network. This innovative approach ensures transparency and allows the partnership to effectively track its progress and impact.
A Holistic Approach to Financial Security
ZDCC’s President, Freud Musanu, was instrumental in finalizing the deal, hammering out several aspects to ensure that the partnership covers all eventualities “100 per cent, known and unknown.” The partnership looks to provide solutions beyond just funeral arrangements, with a focus on comprehensive plans, including retirement and extended family care plans. This holistic approach is a clear indication of ZDCC’s commitment to providing long-term value and looking beyond the immediate needs of the diaspora.
A core offering of this partnership is the Diaspora Funeral Cash Plan (DFCP), underwritten by Madison Life, one of Zambia’s most financially secure and dependable life assurance providers. The DFCP is a whole-of-life cover that guarantees a payout within 24 hours of proof of death, with no medical exams required upon application or claim.
This service provides a vital lifeline, offering peace of mind to the global Zambian community by ensuring that funeral expenses can be met promptly and with dignity. The DFCP allows for the inclusion of nuclear family members, including a spouse, children, parents, and parents-in-law, providing a robust safety net for entire families.
Reaching Every Corner of the Zambian Community
Mr. Musanu has proposed a groundbreaking strategy to ensure the success of the partnership: leveraging Zambian languages to promote the insurance packages, policies, and promotions to “reach all the nooks and crannies.” This culturally-sensitive approach aims to overcome language barriers and build trust, ensuring that every Zambian, regardless of their location or background, can access these essential services.
The newfound partnership is expected to be formalized before Freud Musanu attends the upcoming Zambia investment road show in Houston on September 18th. This event will provide a platform for Mr. Musanu to showcase the new collaboration to global Zambians and generate further interest in the diaspora.
The ZDCC and Madison Life Insurance Company partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration and a shared vision to uplift and empower the Zambian community worldwide. It marks a new chapter in providing accessible and innovative financial solutions that protect people and their loved ones all the way.
