The Urgent Call to Support Free 24 Hours #ProjectKosai at Durumi IDP Camp, Abuja
HOPe Africa Announces First-of-its-Kind 24-Hour Charity Feeding Outreach at Durumi IDP Camp, Abuja — Featuring Koko & Kosai for Nutritional Support During Fasting Period
Abuja, Nigeria — 18th November 2025 — HOPe Africa

This historic outreach intentionally aligns with the national fasting period, offering healthy, culturally relevant food options to complement fasting, promote equality, and uphold dignity among displaced communities.
Nutritional Food Pack: Koko, Kosai & Water
The 24-hour feeding program features traditional, highly nutritious staples:
1. Koko (Pap)
A warm fermented cereal porridge made from corn, millet, or sorghum.
Nutritional benefits include:
- Rich in carbohydrates for energy
- Easily digestible, suitable for children and elderly
- Supports hydration and electrolyte balance during fasting
- Gentle on the stomach — ideal for early-morning and evening meals

2. Kosai (Bean Cake)
A protein-rich fried bean cake made from peeled black-eyed peas.
Nutritional benefits include:
- High in plant-based protein for muscle strength
- Provides healthy fats for sustained energy
- Rich in fiber, supporting digestion
- Balances the carbohydrate load from pap for a complete meal

3. Clean Drinking Water
- Essential hydration for all participants
- Supports metabolic functions, especially in hot weather and during fasting
The combination of Koko, Kosai, and water provides a balanced, culturally familiar, and nutritionally adequate meal suitable for all ages.
