THE POLITICS OF DISTRACTION—WHY THESE ALLEGATIONS ARE SURFACING NOW
THE POLITICS OF DISTRACTION—WHY THESE ALLEGATIONS ARE SURFACING NOW
By The TipsNews International Editorial Board
Why now?
This is the question that every discerning reader must ask when confronted with recycled allegations from 2006–2007 being presented as “breaking news” in 2026.
The answer is as predictable as it is concerning: the politics of distraction.
THE TIMING IS NO COINCIDENCE
Governor Uba Sani’s re-election campaign is gaining momentum. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has overwhelmingly affirmed him as its consensus flag bearer for the 2027 governorship election, with delegates garnering 459,393 votes in his favour. Support groups across Southern Kaduna have endorsed his re-election and his choice of running mate, Comrade Jerry Adams.
In short: Governor Sani is winning.
And when a popular leader is winning, his opponents resort to desperate measures.
As Baba Jibril noted, those reviving these claims are attempting to divert public attention from ongoing investigations into the financial affairs of the immediate past administration in Kaduna State. It is no coincidence that these baseless attacks are being revived at this precise moment, when Kaduna State is witnessing lawful, transparent investigations and trials into the financial dealings of the previous administration—a process Governor Sani has vowed to see through without fear or favour.
THE POLITICAL PLAYBOOK: RECYCLE, REBRAND, REPEAT
The article in question follows a familiar playbook:
- Dig up old allegations from the archives
- Present them as new discoveries
- Ignore the lack of evidence or prosecution
- Hope that voters have short memories
This is not journalism. This is propaganda masquerading as journalism.
TipsNews International condemns this practice in the strongest possible terms.
THE FACTS THAT THE PROPAGANDISTS DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW
THE INSULT TO THE INTELLIGENCE OF NIGERIANS
The recent resurrection of these allegations is “a disservice to objective journalism and an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians”. The allegations, which have never been substantiated in any court of law or by any credible anti-corruption agency, are “a classic case of recycled political vendetta aimed at tarnishing one of Nigeria’s most accomplished public servants”.
Governor Sani has been judged by the people of Kaduna State—and they have given him an overwhelming mandate. They have seen his achievements:
- Zero ethno-religious conflicts since 2023
- Over 150 road projects across all 23 LGAs
- 255 Primary Healthcare Centres upgraded
- Over 300,000 out-of-school children re-enrolled
- Agricultural budget increased to over ₦100 billion
These are the results of a leader focused on governance, not on accumulating wealth.
A WORD TO THE ELECTORATE
To the good people of Kaduna State:
Do not be distracted by recycled allegations from nearly two decades ago. Do not be fooled by propaganda designed to divert your attention from the transformative achievements of Governor Uba Sani’s administration.
Look at the results.
- Schools are open. Children are learning.
- Hospitals are functioning. Patients are receiving care.
- Roads are being built. Commerce is thriving.
- Markets are bustling. Farmers are prospering.
- Peace prevails. Communities are united.
This is the legacy of Governor Senator Uba Sani, CON. This is the leader who has restored hope to Kaduna State.
Do not let the politics of distraction steal your hope.
CONCLUSION: THE PEOPLE WILL DECIDE
In 2027, the people of Kaduna State will go to the polls. They will have a choice: to vote based on performance or to vote based on propaganda.
Governor Uba Sani has the performance. His opponents have only recycled allegations.
The choice is clear. The people of Kaduna will make the right decision—just as they did in 2023.
Governor Sani remains focused on governance. He remains committed to the people of Kaduna. And he will not be distracted by the desperate tactics of his political opponents.
“Kaduna State will be a place where business thrives and citizens live in safety and dignity.” — Governor Uba Sani
ADDENDUM: A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
By Francis Fagjot John, PhD.
TipsNews International is privileged to have received information via Ben Kure, MD/CEO of Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) , whose mutual sincerity of purpose and smooth working relationship with the Kaduna State Government has facilitated this comprehensive response.
We acknowledge that Governor Uba Sani is widely perceived as the best-performing governor in Northern Nigeria. His achievements in peace-building, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and agriculture speak for themselves.
Shortly, we will be engaging a cross-section of the people of Kaduna State in a series of interviews to continue to align the state rightly with formidable solution-based approaches—not listening to distractors and disgruntled elements.
We also note with great enthusiasm that Governor Sani has agreed to a town hall meeting with Nigerians in the diaspora, mostly from Kaduna, to take on such heat and more, to put the record straight, and to drive Kaduna ahead of northern Nigerian states.
This is the mark of a leader who has nothing to hide and everything to be proud of.
