THE MOST POWERFUL POLITICAL LESSON MAY NOT BE HOW TO WIN

Political history is usually written around winners.

The winner gets the headline.

The winner gets the office.

The winner gets the celebration.

But sometimes the most consequential political lesson comes from the person who loses the position and chooses not to lose himself.

That is why the political journey of Senator Shehu Sani deserves to be examined beyond the language of victory and defeat.

His story intersects directly with that of Governor Uba Sani: two Kaduna politicians whose paths once collided in one of the state’s most consequential internal political contests, yet whose relationship has subsequently evolved toward cooperation and a shared political future.

This is more than an ordinary political story.

It is a learning curve.

It is a story about disappointment without bitterness, political competition without permanent hatred, reconciliation without surrender, and public service beyond the boundaries of one political office.

And perhaps most importantly, it is a story about what Kaduna can learn from its own political history.
