Dr. Hashim Sabo Bello, a distinguished education leader, spoke candidly about the institution’s greatest challenge: the lack of consistent energy. “Our workshops and laboratories cannot function optimally without stable power,” he said, highlighting how vital this partnership is for the institution’s mission. As one of Nigeria’s top-ranking polytechnics, renowned for its innovative spirit, ATAPOLY is positioning itself to transition into a full-fledged university. Projects like this are essential to justify that elevation — and the Rector expressed sincere optimism that HOPe Care Services’ expertise would be key to achieving the necessary certification and sustainable development.

Stepping in with unwavering support and professionalism, HOPe Care Services United States was ably represented by a formidable team:

  • Hon. Victoria Sashi — the dedicated project liaison,
  • Ibrahim Mohd — an expert in logistics and community engagement,
  • Mohd Julde — specializing in technical support and administration, and
  • Engr. Auwal Mohd Bello, a renewable energy specialist who previously worked with NEPA and brings decades of valuable sector experience.

Adding a powerful international voice, Francis John, Executive Director of HOPe Care Services United States, joined virtually. His stirring words praised the bold steps taken by ATAPOLY and assured the Rector and his team of HOPe Care Services United States’ total commitment to delivering dependable, innovative results.

Francis highlighted that HOPe Care Services has successfully executed third-party energy verification projects for prominent institution like Mega Energy Zambia and recently served as consultants on a $22 million residential solar project (phase one) with Access Bank in Zambia, integrating solar, net metering, and reinsurance protections. in 2024 raised $50,000 for trainings and solar system equipment funding for Mega Energy.

He noted, “We have observed that even the Nigerian Presidential Villa is now transitioning toward solar energy. But here at ATAPOLY, you are taking faster, visionary action — you are setting the pace.”

Importantly, Francis also announced future possibilities for staff and student exchange programs across Africa, particularly with Zambia, further cementing a multi-layered partnership beyond energy into education and innovation.

Throughout the meeting, there was a vibrant atmosphere of mutual respect, enthusiasm, and forward-thinking. Both parties agreed to pursue the best optional services that would guarantee success, sustainability, and an enduring model for other institutions to follow.

In the words of Hon. Victoria Sashi, “This is not just an energy project; it is a symbol of transformation, commitment, and new beginnings for ATAPOLY.”

As the meeting concluded, it was clear that a greater partnership was taking root — one built on shared values, excellence, and an unstoppable drive to empower future generations.

With the right cooperation and expertise, the Polytechnic’s dream of becoming a University is no longer a distant vision — it is becoming a reality, one solar panel and one classroom at a time.
