HEARTFELT APPRECIATION ON THE APPOINTMENT OF RETIRED GENERAL CHRISTOPHER GWABIN MUSA AS SENIOR MINISTER OF DEFENSE

Mr. President,

On behalf of the entire people of Southern Kaduna, both at home and in the diaspora, the Southern Kaduna Peoples’ United Associations (SOKAPU) hereby convey our deepest gratitude and highest commendation to Your Excellency for the visionary appointment of Retired General Christopher Gwabin Musa as Nigeria’s Senior Minister of Defense.

This singular decision resonates beyond the boundaries of military protocol—it is a powerful affirmation of your administration’s commitment to merit, excellence, inclusivity, and results-driven governance. By elevating a tested battlefield commander and nationally respected strategist to this critical post, you have not only honored the service of an illustrious son of Southern Kaduna, but you have also signaled to all Nigerians that competence and character remain the currency of public trust under your watch.

WHY THIS APPOINTMENT MATTERS TO US

  • Professional Pedigree: General Musa’s 38-year career is a textbook study in disciplined leadership—Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Theatre Commander against insurgency, and Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force.
  • Security Credentials: His operational record in the North-East and Lake-Chad basin is cited by global militaries as a template for asymmetric warfare.
  • Integrity Quotient: Zero-tolerance for corruption, transparent resource management, and a people-first leadership style that has earned him the nickname “Soldier’s Soldier.”
  • Symbol of Inclusion: For a region that has long yearned for visible federal representation, this appointment is a healing balm and a morale booster.

WHAT WE EXPECT – AND WHAT WE PLEDGE

We are confident that under General Musa’s stewardship, the Ministry of Defence will:
Fast-track the completion of the Super-Camp Strategy and modernize surveillance along our porous borders.
Deepen civil-military cooperation, ensuring that counter-terror operations respect human rights and win hearts and minds.
Push for the domestication of the National Defence Industry Roadmap, reducing billions in import leakage.
Foster regional partnerships to neutralize cross-border banditry and maritime piracy.

In return, SOKAPU pledges:

  • Full community support through our Grass-Roots Intelligence Network.
  • Continuous advocacy for peaceful coexistence and youth de-radicalization programs.
  • Collaboration with the Ministry of Defence’s Civil-Military Affairs Directorate on trauma counselling and re-integration of ex-combatants.

A WORD TO THE CAPTAIN OF THE SHIP

Your Excellency, history will record that in a season of global uncertainty, you chose experience over expediency, unity over tokenism, and security over sentiment. Southern Kaduna stands with you. We pray for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as you pilot the Nigerian ship through these turbulent waters.

May the God of justice and peace continue to bless your administration, protect our troops, and restore tranquility to every corner of our fatherland.

With profound gratitude and unwavering loyalty,

Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato
