Kansas City, Missouri

In a bold and unprecedented cultural intervention, HOPe Africa International, an ECOSOC-accredited organization, in partnership with KuliKuli Entertainment USA, has formally submitted a comprehensive proposal to the United Nations for the adoption of “ONE IS LOVE (WE ARE ONE)”, a global Afrobeats anthem dedicated to disability inclusion, human dignity, and universal solidarity.
The initiative is led by NYcee, an Afrobeats artist and cultural advocate whose lifelong personal association and work with persons with disabilities has shaped a deep commitment to equality, inclusion, and respect for all abilities.
A Cultural Response to a Global Inclusion Imperative
Across the world, over 1.3 billion people live with disabilities, many facing persistent barriers to participation, dignity, and opportunity. While policy progress has been made, cultural exclusion and social stigma remain major challenges.
“ONE IS LOVE (WE ARE ONE)” responds to this reality by leveraging the monumental global rise of Afrobeats—now one of the most influential cultural movements worldwide—to deliver a message of love, unity, and limitless ability in a format that transcends language, geography, literacy, and physical capacity.
The anthem is intentionally designed as:
- Accessibility-first (sign-language friendly, movement-based, sensory-inclusive)
- Globally adaptable across cultures and languages
- Evergreen — usable year-in, year-out
- Emotionally resonant, reaching body, mind, and soul
Why Afrobeats, Why Now
Afrobeats has evolved into a global cultural force, shaping youth identity, social narratives, and international engagement across Africa, the Americas, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Recognizing this impact, HOPe Africa and KuliKuli Entertainment USA considered it both timely and strategic to invite the United Nations and its stakeholders to harness this momentum in advancing inclusion for people of limitless abilities.
“One is Love. Love is One. There are no disabled humans—only diverse and limitless abilities.”
Proposed Global Launch: International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Subject to approval and guidance, the project proposes its official global launch on 3 December 2026, during the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed annually by the United Nations.
Upon approval, HOPe Africa International will coordinate ethical fundraising and resource mobilization, in collaboration with relevant UN departments, to ensure proceeds and resources from the anthem and associated campaigns are directed toward relevant, necessary, and priority programs supporting persons with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and first responders.
About the Lead Artist: NYcee
NYcee brings authenticity and moral credibility to the initiative. From childhood through adulthood, he has worked alongside persons with disabilities and their families, cultivating a passion rooted not in charity, but in respect, shared humanity, and total equality.
His leadership positions the anthem not merely as music, but as lived advocacy—a call to build an egalitarian world where everyone belongs without limitation, restriction, or exclusion.
