The Zambian entrepreneurial landscape witnessed a remarkable milestone as Elizabeth Organic Peanut Butter, an organic product with roots in Zambia, received funding approval. This pivotal endorsement marks a new era for Zambian small businesses aiming for social impact and growth on an international stage. The success came after an inspiring presentation by the President of the Zambia Diaspora Chamber of Commerce (ZDCC), Mr. Freud Musanu, who, along with board members and supporters, secured the backing for Elizabeth Organic Peanut Butter during a meeting at Heartland International Ministries’ headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas.

In the company of Mr. Musanu were ZDCC board members and partners, including Francis John, editor and publisher of TipsNews in Kansas City. Their collective effort and strategic vision left a profound impression on Mr. Byron Whetstone, founder and executive director of Heartland International Ministries. Mr. Whetstone, moved by the high-impact goals outlined for the peanut butter project, wasted no time approving the funding—a testimony to the trust and collaborative spirit that define the ZDCC’s commitment to transforming Zambian communities.
During his presentation, Mr. Musanu showcased five proposals encompassing agriculture, textiles, food, renewable energy, and other high-potential sectors. Mr. Whetstone attentively absorbed each slide and connected deeply with the mission of Elizabeth Organic Peanut Butter, seeing its potential to drive not only financial growth but also significant social impact. He highlighted the alignment of this project with Heartland’s values, recognizing its ability to create sustainable livelihoods and empower local communities in Zambia.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Musanu’s pledge to deliver a sample of Elizabeth Organic Peanut Butter and designate Mr. Whetstone as the head of the ZDCC membership office was met with enthusiasm and appreciation. Mr. Musanu further emphasized the upcoming International Business Exchange (IBEx) program set for March 2-13, 2025, encouraging international collaborations and partnerships. With ZDCC aiming to expand its influence across Africa, the conference is expected to attract around 500 participants, including businesses, chambers of commerce from Greater Kansas City, and other international investors.
The approval of funding for Elizabeth Organic Peanut Butter exemplifies what can be achieved when dedicated individuals and organizations come together to foster positive change. This victory is a testament to the commitment and unity demonstrated by the ZDCC team, Mr. Whetstone, and their supporters in furthering a vision for Zambia that benefits both the local community and the global marketplace.
