KDSS Congratulates Hon. Ben Kure
On behalf of Kaduna in Diaspora Social Services (KDSS), led by Francis Fagjot John, PhD, we hereby congratulate Hon. Ben Kure for the recent appointment as the Kaduna State Commissioner of Sports Development.
KDSS promises to do everything within its international connections and exposure to bring formidable and inclusive support to the overall sports development and overhaul in Kaduna, leading to the entire Northern Nigeria. We will likewise ensure all possible outreach, outlook, and outpouring overflow in sports development.
This is because the newly appointed Commissioner has been in formidable contact with KDSS for most times, bringing innovation, increase, and expansion to Kaduna State through his well-connected local and international networks to His Excellency Governor Uba Sani, whom both of them are seen to have a mutual outstanding in the thought and development of the entire Kaduna State.
This appointment is timely and an offshoot of outstanding performance as the CEO and MD of Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
A Man of Proven Capacity and Service
Hon. Ben Kure is no stranger to leadership, reform, and results. His appointment comes after a remarkable tenure as the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), where he demonstrated uncommon capacity to reposition institutions and drive strategic communication. His leadership at KSMC was marked by innovation, expansion, and a renewed sense of purpose, qualities that will now be brought to bear on the sports sector.
His public service record reflects a rare combination of grassroots leadership and high-level strategic engagement. He served as Chairman of Jaba Local Government from 2016 to 2017, where he gained invaluable experience in local governance and community development. He later served as Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) from 2018 to 2019, a role that demanded compassion, rapid response, and meticulous coordination during times of crisis. Between 2019 and 2021, he served as Special Adviser (Political Matters) to the Governor of Kaduna State, where he honed his skills in political strategy and high-level advisory functions.
Hon. Ben Kure’s professional background is equally impressive. He holds a Master’s degree in Conflict, Peace and Strategic Studies and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Geography and Planning. He is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and a Member of The Institute of Management Consultants (MIMC). His banking career, which spanned institutions such as Oceanic Bank PLC/ECOBANK Nigeria PLC, Zenith Bank PLC, and Broad Bank, equipped him with the financial discipline and management expertise that have become hallmarks of his leadership style.
This rare blend of academic credentials, financial acumen, political experience, and grassroots connection makes Hon. Ben Kure uniquely qualified to lead Kaduna State’s sports development agenda. He understands that sports is not merely recreation—it is a vehicle for youth empowerment, community cohesion, economic opportunity, and national pride.
KDSS’s Commitment to Inclusive Sports Development
As an organization dedicated to harnessing the skills, networks, and resources of Kaduna sons and daughters in the diaspora for the benefit of our homeland, KDSS is particularly excited by this appointment. We have maintained a formidable and enduring relationship with Hon. Ben Kure, and we have witnessed firsthand his openness to innovation and his eagerness to leverage both local and international networks for the advancement of Kaduna State.
We therefore use this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to working closely with Hon. Ben Kure and the Ministry of Sports Development. KDSS will deploy all of its international connections and diaspora exposure to bring formidable and inclusive support to the overall sports development and overhaul of Kaduna State. Our vision extends beyond the state’s borders; we are determined that Kaduna’s success in sports development will serve as a model for the entire Northern Nigeria region.
We will facilitate outreach, outlook, and outpouring of support—whether through diaspora mentorship programs, international partnerships, sports equipment donations, or technical exchanges—to ensure that no young athlete in Kaduna is left behind.
A Timely Appointment for a Visionary Government
This appointment is timely and strategic. It reflects Governor Uba Sani’s continued commitment to assembling a team of proven achievers who share his vision for a transformed, resilient Kaduna State. The synergy between Governor Uba Sani and Hon. Ben Kure is evident: both men are driven by a mutual outstanding commitment to the thought and development of the entire Kaduna State. Their partnership in the area of sports development promises to deliver not just incremental gains, but a transformative overhaul of the state’s sports ecosystem.
Better Days Ahead
The appointment of Hon. Ben Kure as Commissioner of Sports Development is not just a win for him or for the government; it is a win for every young person in Kaduna who dreams of a career in sports. It is a win for every community that understands the power of sports to unite, inspire, and elevate.
