Third minister charged in humongous corruption in Uganda

A Third Ugandan minister used to be on Wednesday charged with corruption in a widening executive scandal over the alleged theft of hundreds of steel roofing sheets.

The roofing sheets were supposed for a reduction programme within the northeastern Karamoja train.

Agness Nandutu, the train minister for Karamoja Affairs, used to be on Wednesday remanded in penal advanced by a Kampala resolve, after pleading no longer responsible to “going by suspect property,” in step with court papers seen by Reuters.

Nandutu used to be accused of receiving 2,000 roofing sheets from executive stores “which she had motive to imagine were obtained due to lack of public property.”

Prosecutors contain already charged two other lawmakers within the same case, including Uganda’s junior finance minister.

The reduction programme is being plug by the high minister’s place of work.

The nation’s leading prosecutor, Mrs Jane Frances Abodo, advised a local radio train her place of work had opened parallel investigations into dozens of different officials, including the vice president.

Corruption investigations in opposition to ministers are rare in Uganda.
