Police not enforcer for private interests – IGP ban officers from land, other civil cases
The Inspector-In sort of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has issued a stern warning to officers of the Nigeria Police Power to lead clear of land disputes and totally different civil conditions.
In a video submit on the Power’s X address on Thursday, the IGP declared that officers “don’t appreciate any enterprise escorting events for land restoration.”
The police chief warned that the Nigeria Police Power is just not any longer an enforcer for non-public agencies.
Per him, such actions by officers teach the Power into disrepute, stressing that any officer stumbled on culpable will face disciplinary motion.
He mentioned, “Let me reiterate with out ambiguity, the Nigeria Police Power is just not any longer and can under no conditions change into an enforcer for non-public interests.
“Officers don’t appreciate any enterprise escorting events for land restoration enterprise, disrupting legally present occupations or meddling in civil conditions with out a demonstrable legal facet.
“Each such incident erodes the neutrality of the power and opens us as much as disrepute. The line may also quiet make certain and any officer who crosses it, must face disciplinary penalties.”
