Ijeoma Grace Agu, Ali Nuhu & Blessing Egbe Join Nigerian Selection Committee for the 97th Academy Awards
The Nigerian Legitimate Different Committee has expanded its ranks for the 97th Academy Awards. Unusual voting members consist of actress Ijeoma Grace Agu, Nigerian Film Corporation Managing Director Ali Nuhu, producer/director Blessing Egbe, Filmhouse Cinemas Co-Founder/Team CEO Kene Okwuosa, and journalist/creator/film critic Victor Akande. The committee, now constituted of 16 members, will pick Nigeria’s entry for the World Characteristic Film class.
Led by actress/filmmaker Stephanie Linus, the committee involves returning members equivalent to Victor Okhai, President, of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN); actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde; susceptible DGN President, Andy Amenechi; theatre practitioner, Yibo Koko; creator/director, Izu Ojukwu; film producer, Emem Isong; director, Dimeji Ajibola; creator/director, Jude Idada; director, John Njamah; and actress/polyglot, Meg Otanwa.
“The inclusion of original members brings collectively people with diverse inventive backgrounds, making improvements to the job of selecting the supreme film from Nigeria,” acknowledged Stephanie. “The workforce is tasked with amassing, screening and voting on entries to characterize the country within the IFF class.”
The 97th Oscars ceremony, which is spicy to be held on 2 March 2025, will air live to over 200 territories worldwide from the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles.
