Swansea defeated Morecambe 2-0, Blackburn Rovers saw off Cambridge United 5-2 in a seven-intention thriller, while Sheffield United won 4-0 at Gillingham.
Bournemouth beat Queens Park Rangers 3-2, Newcastle outclassed Sunderland 3-0 in the Tyneside Derby and Leicester Metropolis progressed with a 3-2 victory over Millwall.
Ipswich won 3-1 at Wimbledon, Watford held off Chesterfield, while Brighton defeated Stoke Metropolis 4-2.
Manchester Metropolis welcome Huddersfield on Sunday, while Arsenal clash with Liverpool at the Emirates.
