Customs intercept N4bn worth of drugs from Canada, India in one month

The Nigeria Customs Carrier has acknowledged it has intercepted varied irritating tablets worth N4.1bn coming from Canada and India within one month.
Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller Fashioned of Customs, disclosed this whereas addressing journalists at the Tincan Island Allege in Lagos on Friday.
He explained that the service intercepted several packs of cannabis indica weighing 1,072kg coming from Canada within the closing month.
“The service intercepted three plastic drums concealing several packets of Cannabis Indica, 46 bags containing 2,144 packets of Cannabis Indica all weighing 1,072kg imported from Canada. The approximate freeway worth of the illicit substances is N3.2 billion,” Adewale acknowledged.
He acknowledged the service also intercepted 877 cartons of Bacardin Syrup coming from India.
“877 cartons of Barcadin cough syrup with codeine-containing 200 bottles of 100ml in every carton and 82 cartons of In truth Further Diclofenac Sodium 50mg tablets 600 packs per carton imported from India was as soon as seized,” the CGC acknowledged.
