BREAKING: Panic as IGP issues major directive to senior officers
- The IGP has ordered senior law enforcement officers, DIGs, AIGs, and CPs to guard Nigerians mobilising for the deliberate nationwide starvation jabber
- This used to be in conserving with the demand by a senior attorney, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, who requested that the police must clean provide protection to protesters
- It used to be learnt that the IGP had scheduled a gathering with Adegboruwa on Tuesday, July 29, Forty eight hours sooner than the commencement of the jabber
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has directed senior law enforcement officers to guard participants within the deliberate #EndBadGovernance jabber, which is ready to occur from August 1 to 10, 2024.
Human rights attorney Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa had requested police protection for the protesters on behalf of the Steal It Serve Circulate.
Police granted Adegboruwa’s demand
Channels TV reported that Adegboruwa wrote to the IGP on July 26, 2024, and obtained a response on July 29, 2024. The IGP’s response used to be signed by his Main Personnel Officer, CP Johnson Adenola.
The IGP directed senior law enforcement officers to help to Adegboruwa’s demand and also invited him for a gathering in Abuja on July 30, 2024.
The police, military, and Department of Train Carrier (DSS) had warned against the deliberate jabber, citing concerns of a Kenya-styled jabber.
In spite of warnings from politicians, the kids organizing the jabber remain determined to budge ahead with the rally.
What starvation jabber is all about
The jabber is against economic hardship, inflation, and authorities policies and is scheduled to occur in August across all states and the nation’s capital.
President Bola Tinubu also warned against the jabber, stating that his administration has utilized measures to curb the nation’s starvation concerns and urging the organisers to approach ahead for dialogue.
He recalled his days when he staged protests against the military, adding that his jabber used to be never unfavourable for lives and property.
Protests became violent at FCE Akoka, Lagos
Legit.ng earlier reported that students and group of the Federal College of Training (Technical) in Akoka, Lagos, had been caught on digicam protesting and destroying public properties.
The video of the jabber has caught the honour of Nigerians, who have considered it as a tip of the deliberate nationwide starvation jabber and expressed their concerns about the mutter.
It used to be learnt that the establishment’s students and group are protesting the tenure extension of its provost, Dr. Wahab Azeez.
