Based on Available Evidence, Authorities Should Ensure Due Process and Appropriate Security in the Mary Habila Case

Samuel Tabara Kato, allegedly received a WhatsApp message attributed to the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, in connection with the ongoing controversy surrounding Mary Habila’s death. The reported message has further heightened public interest and intensified calls for transparency and accountability.

If authentic, and when viewed alongside previous publicly reported exchanges, the communication may reasonably warrant careful assessment by the appropriate law enforcement and security agencies to determine whether any security concerns exist. Such assessments, however, should be based on verified evidence and conducted strictly within the framework of the law.
