 91,000 Nigerian firms ordered to file annual returns in 90 days

The Company Affairs Commission, CAC, has given over 91,000 dormant firms a 90-day ultimatum to file all their prominent annual returns or risk being deregistered.

CAC disclosed this in a press liberate released on its official web living on Wednesday.

According to the observation: “Right here’s to advise most of us that the Commission, below its powers contained in Part 692 (3) (4) of the Corporations and Allied Matters Act No. 3 of 2020, intends to strike off from the register names of defunct or dormant firms that bear no longer filed annual returns for 10 years.

“These firms are given 90 days from the date of this text to file all prominent annual returns and send an electronic mail of this truth to [email protected] to cast off their names from the checklist.”

CAC urged stakeholders to expose that it is unlawful to take care of on industry with the title of a company that has been delisted from the register, as this kind of company is deemed to be dissolved.

DAILY POST recalls that final December, CAC launched its plot to deregister 91,843 firms over failure to file their annual returns.
